Working Gundog Association of Australia (WGAA)
The Working Gundog Association of Australia (WGAA) (Vic) was formed in 1998 as a sub club of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia, Victorian Branch (SSAA Vic) by a dedicated group of gundog enthusiasts keen to promote field and retrieving trials in Australia.
The Working Gundogs National Discipline was established within the SSAA to promote the use of trained gundogs in the field. Responsible hunters ensure that game is quickly despatched and retrieved over land or water. The gundog has been fulfilling this role for centuries.
Many of our members have vast experience in training gundogs and competing in field and retrieving trials throughout Australia. These members are keen to pass on their skills to other members.
Throughout the year WGAA runs a full program of events including monthly training days, field trials, retrieving trials, Duck Opening training days, Field Assessment days, Water Tests and Gundog demonstrations at the various SSAA Shot Expos.
To join WGAA you must also be a member of the SSAA. WGAA membership is $30 a year.
Monthly training days are included free of charge with your membership.
If you are coming along for a first ‘come & try’ visit the cost is $5.00
